Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sushi rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 5 Nori (seaweed) sheets
  • 200g, sliced Sushi-grade tuna or salmon
  • 1, julienned Cucumber
  • 1, sliced Avocado

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the sushi rice according to package directions.

  2. 2

In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat until the sugar dissolves to make sushi vinegar.

  3. 3

Gently fold the sushi vinegar into the cooked rice. Let it cool to room temperature.

  4. 4

Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat, shiny side down.

  5. 5

Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.

  6. 6

Arrange your fillings (fish, cucumber, avocado) in a line across the center of the rice.

  7. 7

Tightly roll the sushi using the bamboo mat.

  8. 8

Use a sharp, wet knife to slice the roll into 6-8 pieces.

  9. 9

Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
